As a general contractor, Weigand Construction usually begins work on a project once the owner and
the architect-engineer have developed the project plans. From this point on, we assume responsibility
for all aspects of the project.
Many functions, including carpentry, concrete, millwork and special installations specified by the
plans, are performed by our own team of skilled tradesmen. In addition, we manage all work
performed by subcontractors, including site preparation, masonry, steel, mechanical and electrical
requirements. We also handle administrative functions, such as issuing and coordinating the
numerous contracts and purchase orders required by even a relatively modest project.
Our project coordinating function includes development and supervision of the construction
schedule, which is critical to insuring that the various subcontractors are on-site when needed and
finished within the time allowed by the construction schedule. We also handle administrative
functions that go beyond the concrete-and-steel aspects of a project, such as developing overall
project cost to completion budgets, maintaining cost control during the construction phase,
obtaining provisions for temporary utilities, and securing all required construction permits.
Any construction project represents the orchestration of many individual efforts.
Successfully coordinating these efforts requires experience, talent, and organization,
precisely the qualities Weigand Construction can bring to bear on your next project.
