Larry Weigand

President, CEO

Bio

Upon graduation from Purdue University in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science in Building Construction Technology, Larry went to work at Weigand Construction Company as an Estimator and Project Manager learning the operational side of business. Mid year 1992, his father offered a leveraged buyout and the opportunity to continue the legacy of a construction company that was started in 1906. With a burning desire to succeed, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude and a large note payable, Larry became President of Weigand Construction Co., Inc. on January 1, 1993.

Since this change in leadership at Weigand Construction, our annual revenues have increased by over 400%, and larger, more complex projects have been completed. Most importantly, we were able to completely retire any and all company debt by 1998, ten years earlier than the buyout repayment schedule. In 1998, we added separate Masonry and Design Build divisions under the Weigand Construction corporate veil, and in 2005 we built a new 30,000s.f. facility on the ever-growing north side of Ft. Wayne. There have been two interior renovations since building the new facility to accommodate growth. Part of that growth was developing business units dedicated to Educational, Medical, Industrial, and Special Projects.

Creativity and innovation are a must inside the corporate walls of Weigand Construction. The business is defined by product differentiation. We foster a culture that rewards individuals who think outside the box. Simply put, we want to harvest all the ideas and continually improve what are currently good operational procedures. There is a tremendous wealth of knowledge within our organization from dedicated field personnel and management.

Away from Weigand Construction...

Some of Larry's interests outside the walls of Weigand include his wife and four children, relaxing at the Lake, and contributing to the community through local charities and boards such as SCAN, the Fort Wayne Ballet, United Way, American Heart Association, Canterbury Schools, and the Young Presidents Organization, just to name a few.
